Mexico Yoga Retreat: Spring Renewal Retreat

Join us at the gorgeous Haramara Yoga Center for a week of basking, breathing and being. Our time together will include hanging out on the beach, upside down in inversions and seeing the inside of a hammock overlooking the ocean.

Described as the place “where Robinson Crusoe meets Architectural Digest”, Haramara Retreat is a magical and idyllic place created and designed to provide a natural and supportive environment to relax, renew and restore well-being. Leeann will lead all the inspirational daily yoga classes.

Haramara (“Mother Sea”) is located near the quaint fishing town of Sayulita ,in the spectacular Riviera Nayarit, Mexico. Scattered across beautiful tropical hillsides, each of our spacious cabanas is made of all natural materials and offers exceptional ocean and jungle canopy views. Optional excursions are available and provide a unique and fun opportunity to immerse yourself in Sayulita’s charming culture.

Your culinary experience at Haramara will be exquisite – Hugo Gutierrez, the head chef, was recently awarded the Diplôme de la Académie Culinaire de France, during a gala dinner organized by the prestigious Vatel Club, representing the best of Mexico’s gastronomy. Chef Hugo bases his culinary creations on what is fresh and local.

    Prepare for the trip

Please make sure that you have a CURRENT PASSPORT for your trip to Mexico. A Driver’s License
is no longer a valid identification document for travel to Mexico. No vaccinations are required to enter
the country (however, you may want to check with your doctor or contact an overseas medical clinic
    for more information on vaccinations).

During the flight to Puerto Vallarta you will be given documentation to fill out which you will then
need to present to the immigration official upon your entry into Mexico.
You will be asked for this upon check-in for your return flight home. If you do not have this piece of
paper there will be a fine and the hassle of redoing all of this paperwork on the spot!

If you have arranged with us to be picked up at the airport in Puerto Vallarta, please proceed through
customs where you will see a driver holding a sign reading “Haramara Retreat”. The cost of the airport
shuttle is not included in your trip price. The cost is $65 for 4 passengers and $5 extra per person up
to 7 passengers and must be paid to the driver on arrival at Haramara in US Dollars or Mexican Pesos.

The Central Pacific Coast of Mexico is surrounded by jungle and receives 345 days of sunshine per
year. Located on the same latitude as the Hawaiian Islands, its sub-tropical climate is often compared
to Hawaii’s. Temperatures reach 90 degrees F (32 C) during the summer, along with high humidity,
but at night, the onshore breeze brings cool air that makes for pleasant sleeping conditions. The rainy
season is June through October, however, August and September are considered the two “rainy”
months. On average, September has 15 wet days per month, while January has only two. Rain usually
doesn’t start until late in the afternoon, leaving most of the day free for outdoor activities.

There are no phones or internet out at Haramara Retreat. If you would like to use the phone, fax, or
internet you will need to go into the town of Sayulita.
For Emergency Contact Only – In case you need to leave a phone number to be reached in an
emergency, the phone number at the Haramara office in town is: 011 52 329 291 3038.

There is no electricity in the cabanas. They are illuminated at night with oil lamps and candles. There
is no outdoor lighting so you will need to carry a flashlight at night. There is, however, electricity

in the Yoga Pavilion and the Kitchen for recharging batteries. It is the same voltage as the US so no
    converter is needed.

The water from the faucets is safe for showering and other necessities. There is purified water
provided in each cabana for drinking and brushing your teeth. There is bottled water available in the
dining room each day. The ice used in the restaurant is also made from purified water.

Each cabana is secluded and private. Each cabana has its own private bathroom with a flush toilet, hot
and cold water, hand woven sheets, and monogrammed towels. Beach towels are also provided with a
towel deposit. The towel deposit will be returned at the end of your stay.

The majority of your costs are covered within your trip price (including accommodations and all
meals) however airport transfers in the US and in Mexico, on-site purchases, and off-site excursions
are not included. Cash, traveler checks, and credit cards are accepted at Haramara for on-site
purchases in our boutique, restaurant, terrace, and spa. In the town of Sayulita US Dollars or Mexican
Pesos are much more widely accepted than credit cards or traveler checks. You can obtain pesos at
home before your departure or upon arrival in Puerto Vallarta at the airport. There are also many
ATM’s in the town of Sayulita to acquire more cash if you need it.

Gratuities for the Haramara Kitchen, Dining, & Housekeeping Staff are not included in your trip price.
Please budget $10 US Dollars per day per person for this. Please give to your group leader on the last
evening. Gratuities for the Spa Staff need to be paid directly to them in cash in either US Dollars or
    Mexican Pesos.

Delicious and healthy vegetarian meals are prepared by Haramara’s talented chefs, Hugo & Luis.
Fish and shrimp are included in many of the meals. Special dietary requirements are happily
accommodated. Coffee is offered in the mornings and wine and beer are available for purchase at

Haramara has high caliber body workers on staff offering a wide range of massages and we highly
recommend treating yourself to at least one session while you’re here! Payment for massages is to be
given directly to your masseuse/masseur and can be made by cash, in either US Dollars or Mexican
Pesos, or by credit card. Sign ups will be at orientation on the first evening and after that at the spa.
There is a 24-hour cancellation policy.
